“We live in the mountains and the clients wanted to incorporate natural surfaces and materials from the area to create a rustic style. The island has log pine posts, river rock stone, knotty alder cabinets and concrete countertops. It includes pasta drawers, a dishwasher, a second sink, and a 42-inch-high eating area. We raised the eating area so that it would hide any clutter around the prep sink but still keep the kitchen open to the larger dining area.”
